MLA (Modern Language Association) style is used by theater and film. CMOS (Chicago Manual of Style) is used in many academic fields, especially humanities and history. Reading Closely and Analyzing Text In APA style, you acknowledge your outside sources in two ways: 1.In-Text Citations - When you paraphrase information that came from an outside source, you must tell your reader where the information came from. To do this, you provide brief information about the source, usually the author and publication year. Example: While the opening of a large research university such as UC Merced leads to a growth in service industry jobs to meet the increased demands of students and faculty of the university, job growth in manufacturing is delayed (Lee, 2019).
