The same journalist then defends the person originally attacked, also for a fee. ATM Journalism Refers to a practice in which reporters receive discreet and regular payoffs through their ATM accounts. News sources simply deposit cash into these accounts instead of handing the money over to journalists through envelopes. Persecution of Radio Journalists According to the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP), journalism (in radio, TV, and print) remains a dangerous profession in the Philippines. According to their data, 197 journalists have been killed in the Philippines since democracy was restored in 1986. The killing of journalists typically occurs in areas far from Metro Manila, the NCR. Victims are frequently radio broadcasters or commentators known for their critical commentary on local politics and corruption. Audio Surveillance Misuse of audio surveillance, such as in eavesdropping or wiretapping, can lead to ethical dilemmas, particularly when done without appropriate legal authority and oversight. Audio Manipulation The rise of technology for audio manipulation, such as deep fakes and voice cloning, raises concerns about the authenticity of audio content and its potential for misinformation and deception. Copyright Infringement Copyright infringement in music occurs when someone uses, reproduces, distributes, or performs a copyrighted musical work without permission from the original owner. This can involve the unauthorized use of melodies, lyrics, recordings, or any other elements that are protected by copyright law. Example: - Creating a website that allows users to download music for free without any permission from the copyright owners - Piracy of music recordings from artists and recording labels Understanding Audio Information Current and Future Trends in Audio Information & Media Are there any other current trends in audio information and media that you know?
