Children under 5 years of age will be carried free of charge. 3. In unreserved classes children of the age of 5 years and under 12 years of age will be charged half the adult fare. 34 4. In unreserved classes, the child shall be charged half the adult fare which shall not be less than the minimum fare. 5. In reserved classes if child wants berth then fare will be equal to adult fare 6. In reserved classes, if the child does not require a reserved berth, he shall be charged half the adult fare which may be less than the minimum fare. In this case, no reservation fee is charged. 7. In case of reserved chair cars full adult fare is applicable for children CHILD FARE AGE OF CHILD FARE COLLECTED Below 5 Years 1. Free 2. If berth/seat required – Full adult fare 5 Years and above, but below 12 Years Half the adult fare subject to minimum (Unreserved ticket) distance for charge In case of reserved Berth If no separate berth is required (NOSB) Half the adult Fare. Fare for Mail / Express will be rounded off to next five rupees. 2. Fare of Season Ticket will be rounded off to next 5 rupees. 3. At the time of refund, Cancellation charges will be rounded off to next 5 rupees. 37 4. With the fare of first class & all AC classes, 5% GST will be taken. Telescopic Fare - If a ticket for a definite distance is purchase in two or more parts, the passenger has to pay more and if ticket is purchased in single part the fare will be less and so the advantage from the ticket is single part is called as telescopic fare. Note: When journey extended in the train, no telescopic benefit will be given. Inflated/Adjusted distance - On Central Railway, distance of Neral - Matheran section is inflated according to traffic. The actual distance of this section is 21 kms. Fare table has been published for distance up to 5000 Kms. 2. For calculation of fare for beyond 5000 kms, 5000 kms will be deducted from total distance. 3. Fare for 5000 kms will be taken from fare table. 4. 50-50 kms part will be made of remaining distance. 5. For each part the fare will be levied as under and it will be added to fare of 5000 kms. Fare for this ticket will be calculated as under. – 1. Fare for the entire distance for travel in higher class / train will be calculated. 2. Fare for the entire distance for travel / train in lower class will be calculated. 3. Both fares will be added. 4. Fare of higher class will be calculated, for entire distance. Note: - 1. If the upper class fare for entire distance is less than the combined fare, then less fare will be collected. 2. All rules like minimum fare, rounding off of fare, Reservation charges, Free Allowance etc. will be applicable as per higher class. Reference books for coaching traffic 1.
