SHARING OF SOCIAL AND CULTURAL BACKGROUND CULTURAL IDENTITY The cultural identity of an individual refers to the identity or feeling of belonging to a group. It pertains to one’s nationality, ethnicity, religion, social class, generation, locality or any kind of social group that has its own distinct culture. FILIPINO IDENTITY Culturally the Philippines is a mix of cultures, incorporating all things Asian, Hispanic, and American. There are those who want to emphasize the cultures of the natives before the arrival of the Spaniards while there are those who want to emphasize the Hispanic culture. FILIPINO IDENTITY Diversity of ethnic groups and languages. The Philippines is home of numerous ethnolinguistic groups, each with its unique customs, traditions, and ways of life GENDER AND SEXUALITY Gender refers to the personal traits and social roles of the male and female members of society Sexuality is the state of being either masculine and feminine Sexuality is diverse and there are many different types. It can take time to figure out the sexuality that fits you best and can change over time. TYPES OF SEXUALITY Asexual- someone who does not experience, or experiences very little sexual attraction or have limited to little desire for sexual contact. Androsexual- individuals are attracted to masculinity regardless of the person’s sex or gender. Autoromantic- romantic attraction toward themselves Bisexual- some people are attracted to both men and women, and are known as bisexual Heterosexual - attracted to the opposite sex- boys who like girls, and women who like men. TYPES OF SEXUALITY Demisexual- often feels sexual attraction after building an emotional bond or connection with someone. Gay- a gay man’s primary sexual attraction is to other men. This includes transgender men who are attracted to other men. Gynosexual- attracted to femininity regardless of the person’s sex or gender. Lesbian- A lesbian woman’s primary sexual attraction is to other women. Libidoist Asexual - experience sexual feelings and satisfy TYPES OF SEXUALITY Polysexual- Poly stems from the Greek prefix for “many,” so polysexual individuals are attracted to multiple or many genders or sexes. Sapiosexual- sexually attracted to highly intelligent people, so much so that they consider it to be the most important trait in a partner. SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS Status is the social standing or class of an individual group. It is often measured as a combination of education, income, and occupation. In range from low to high and often reveal inequalities in terms of power, influence, and access to resources SOCIAL CLASS IN THE PHILIPPINES Three primary social classes exist in the Philippines: the low-income class, the middle- income class, and the high-income class. The latest Family Income and Expenditure Survey by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shows that majority (58.4%) of Filipinos belong to the low-income class, while the middle class comprises around 40% of the population. Only 1.4% fall in the high-income class. They are engaged in a diverse range of occupations, including professionals, SOCIAL CLASS IN THE PHILIPPINES THE HIGH- INCOME CLASS: INFLUENCE AND PRESTIGE They enjoy significant economic privileges, access to exclusive education, and luxurious lifestyles. The high-income class includes influential business tycoons, prominent politicians, and other EXCEPTION ALITY Exceptionality refers to a characteristic of a person that makes him or her different from the established norms in the society Exceptional people experience are discrimination, limited access to educational opportunities, and isolation from society R.A 7277- THE MAGNA CARTA OF DISABLED PERSON By law, all public schools in the Philippines are mandated to offer special education classes for all students with physical or learning disabilities
