Week 5: Map Skills 1. absolute location: the exact location of a place 2. cardinal directions: the four main points on a compass 3. continents: large areas of land 4. coordinate grid system: a grid that uses letters and numbers to label the grid lines 5. Eastern Hemisphere: half of the Earth east of the Prime Meridian 6.
