SCHOOL ORGANIZATION UNIT 4: EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS: Organizational autonomy of Educational Institutions. AUTONOMY: 1. Pedagogical and curricular. 2. Organizational management. 3. Management of resources. 1. PEDAGOGICAL AND CURRICULUM: - Instruments: ``Proyecto Educativo de Centro´´ PEC- Article 121. ``Programación General Anual´´ PGA- Article 125. P.E.C (Proyecto Educativo de Centro): A document. - Drawn up, approved and implemented by the non-university educational institution. - Prepared by the representatives of teachers, parents and students. - Approved and evaluated by the SCHOOL COUNCIL. The P.E.C includes: - Values. - Objectives. - Action priorities: established by the school council or the owner of the school. - The approach to education in values. - The curricula: specified and approved by the Teacher`s assembly. The P.E.C should pay attention to: - Student diversity. - Academic supervision. - The plan for coexistence. - Non-discrimination. - Educational inclusion. P.G.A (Programación General Anual): The PGA is drawn up at the beginning of every academic year. Organization and running of the center: - The projects. - The curriculum. - Norms. - All action plans. MEMORIA ANUAL: A final report, includes and evaluates the activities and running of the school. REGLAMENTO DE RÉGIMEN INTERIOR (RRI): Part of the ``Proyecto Educativo´´. Rules, norms and procedures making up the internal running of the school. Approved and evaluated by the school council. 2. ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT: Educational Institutions can introduce: - Innovations. - Working plans. - Different ways of organizing or increasing the number of school hours. All the organizational aspects are specified in the RRI. 3. MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES: Management project. Public educational institutions must communicate the organization and the use of their material and human resources. PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS: Their organizational, pedagogical and management autonomy is the responsibility of: - The management team: - The principal. - The head of studies: to be in charge of the teaching staff in all matters related to the academic system. - The secretary: to organize the administrative system of the education center. - Any other figure. - The mixed-membership governing bodies: - The school council: made up of public schools and centros concertados. - Teacher`s assembly. PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND CENTROS CONCERTADOS: Their administrative, economic management and pedagogical organization tasks are the responsibility of THE GOVERNING BODIES. Centros concertados: - The Principal. - The School council. - The teacher`s assembly. THE SCHOOL COUNCIL. Made up of: - Public schools. - Centros concertados. Public schools. - The principal. - The head of studies. - One municipal Council representative. - A number of representatives of teachers (1/3). - A number of students and parents (1/3). - A representative of the administrative and service staff. - The secretary. - A member of the educational care staff. Centros concertados. - The principal. - Three representatives of the owner of the school. - A town/city councilor. - 4 teachers representatives. - 4 parents representatives. - 2 student representatives (from the first cycle of E.S.O). - A representative of the administrative and service staff. - One representative for the company. THE TEACHER`S ASSEMBLY: Made up of: - The teachers. - The principal. Responsible of: - Planning. - Informing. - Coordinating. - Making decisions. ALL EDUCATIONAL ASPECTS. AIM OF THE GOVERNING BODIES: - Promote teamwork. - Guarantee coordinated and systematic action.
