The **ghost** story was scary. ## Science - 1. **Rotate** means to spin around an axis. - 2. There is daylight when the Earth **faces** the sun and there is nighttime when the Earth is **turned** away from the sun. - 3. It takes **24 hours** for the Earth to make one complete rotation. - 4. **Axis** is an imaginary line that passes through the center of the Earth. - 5. Earth **revolves** around the sun. **Revolves** means to move in a circle around another object. - 6. Earth revolves in a certain way. It travels in an **orbit**. **Orbit** is the path that Earth takes around the sun. - 7. It takes **365 days** for Earth to make one complete revolution around the Sun. One complete revolution is **one year**. - 8. When it is nighttime, the Sun is **far from the Earth**. - 9. A **satellite** is a natural or artificial body that orbits a planet or star. For example, the Moon. - 10. **The Moon** is the satellite of the Earth. - 11. Moon needs **27.3 days** to pass through all of phases. - 12. **Phases** are the different shapes of the Moon that we see from Earth. - 13. A hollow area in the ground in the Moon's surface is called a **crater**. - 14. Both Earth and the Moon are heavenly bodies, but **The Moon has less mass than Earth.** - 15. The Moon is shaped like a **sphere**. - 16. The term "A phase of the Moon" means the **different shapes of the Moon that we see from Earth**. - 17. The 4 main phases of the Moon are: **New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon, Last Quarter**. - 18. The Moon does not shine on its own. It reflects the light from the Sun.
