CULMINATING SCRAPBOOK ASSIGNMENT(Unit 4) By Otis I’ll be doing… Type A vs Type B Type A: People who are competitive, self-motivated, hard workers who always keep up with the deadline. They are always on the urge of overload and agitation, as they constantly stress themselves over their work. If something gets into their way, they might get mad. Type B: People who, although are the opposite of type A in keeping up with deadlines and self-motivation, are still hard workers. They are chill most of the time and works at a constant pace. Clearing it up: It’s a common misconception that Type A people has more competence, making them more likely to succeed in life. It’s just that these 2 types of people are successful at their own unique ways. Since type B spends a lot of time chatting and chilling, they have more interpersonal skills. Whereas type A alienate themselves from people because they are too focused on their work, they are good at taking responsibility. Further details: People are not strictly Type A or Type B. Most people are a mixture of both. Some may have more “Type A-ness” inside of them, and less “Type B-ness”; Some may have more “Type B” and less “A”;Some may even have an equal amount of both. Big 5 Personality Traits There are 5 personality traits inside a person: Extroversion: outgoing, more social(the opposite is introversion) Agreeableness: Trusting, doesn’t like conflict, they like to “smooth the waters” (the opposite of antagonism) Conscientiousness: A person who keeps up with their responsibilities. Competitive.(the opposite of lack of direction) Emotional Stability: Doesn’t get too emotional (opposite of neuroticism) Openness: Broad-minded, open to change(opposite of openness) Advantages & disadvantages Advantage: The staff inside the undertale no mercy is majority Type A, as they volunteered to work for the organization despite of not getting paid. They come because they have a passion for the job, and they enjoy the process of working on an Undertale fangame. We have a vibrant community that constantly propose new ideas towards the manager, such as new dialogue options character designs and music tracks(Otis 1st Discord ,2025). The community does not slack off for even a bit, sometimes they even overwork themselves just for the sake of it. Disadvantage: The disadvantage of the staff being Type A is that the staff does not communicate with each other much often. They focus on their work too much and often forget to socialize with each other. Since the staff’s new proposals are drastically different from each other, the staff often argue with other staff members due to their lack of emotional connections, which caused them to act unfriendly towards each other. As one of the staff, I too was guilty of this as I argued with my boss about how the storyline of our fangame does not match that of the original “Undertale” game, and that we should fix it in order to even be called a fangame of “Undertale”, as it is the core tenant of “Undertale”. I proposed that since “Undertale” has a huge emphasis on “Meta-narrative”, perhaps we should encompass it into the game. Undertale No Mercy vs StoryFell As previously mentioned, Undertale No Mercy staff is Type A. In contrast, StoryFell staff are entirely Type B as they are aware of the fact that they are working on a small “fan game”, that they aren’t going to profit out of the game, which caused them to not be motivated to work. They seldom speak on the discord server(Otis 2nd discord,2025). We seldom do things nilly willy, if we feel like it. For example, as one of the staff, I only started talking on their discord server after a whole week of being invited to the team, and I was aware that the things I said inside the server doesn’t even contribute to the progress of the game, because I was too busy talking about Kanye West, which focused less work on coding(which is my actual job). I have probably made their progress even slower by doing so, but nobody batted an eye. Does Type A & Type B accurately describe my 2 organizations? Undertale No Mercy: The staff inside the discord server has only one thing in mind— “work”. This is why Type A accurately describes them most of the time, as there is little to nothing to deter them on the path of developing the game. All the staff inside the organization devoted most of the day towards making music, items ,in-game enemies ,and sometimes coding. Sometimes though, they may get a little bit distracted with chit chatting with to each other or the boss, but they get back on track very quickly. Storyfell: Type B also accurately describe the staff inside StoryFell most of the time. The staff were not devoted to their work at all, because not even out boss cares about it— we were left to our own demise. There was one instance where I saw an image of the design of our UI system, but that image was posted a long time ago with no follow up. In conclusion, Type A and Type B accurately describes both of the organizations as there are little to no counter-examples for them to not fall into either one of the categories. Undertale No Mercy is 90% Type A, and StoryFell is 99% Type B. [Template] BOH4M - 4-1a - LN, Stress Management(2025).
