PHYSICAL EDUCATION 10 HIP-HOP CULTURE ▪ Street Dance – It originated to social gatherings and street parties where dancers could freely express themselves. – Street dance encourages individuality and creativity to emphasizes improvisation and personal expression ▪ Bronx New York City – Place where the hip-hop dance style originated. ▪ 1970 – The year when the hip-hop dance style started. HIP-HOP DANCE STYLES ▪ B-boying - B-boying or breaking is also called breakdancing. - Movements of B-boying (Top Rock Footwork, Down Rock Footwork, Freezes, Power Moves) - It performs with head spins, windmills, and intricate footwork on the ground, demonstrating strength, flexibility, and rhythm. ▪ Popping - It performs with sharp, robotic movements, isolating specific body parts in sync with the beat of the music. - It incorporates complex upper-body isolations, wave-like movements, and subtle shoulder pops into their routine. ▪ Locking - It is also known as campbellocking. - It is a dance style that involves coordinated arm movements, dramatic pauses, and playful gestures often performed to funky music. - A synchronized movement, emphasizing playful, exaggerated gestures such as pointing, wrist rolls, and pauses, often with a humorous touch ▪ Krumping - Krumping is a dance style to release anger. - A dance style that shows powerful, energetic movements that express raw emotion and aggression. ▪ Tutting - It incorporates quick hand and arm movements to form shapes, often resembling geometric patterns. ▪ Shuffling - Basic movements of the dance are a fast heel and toe action with a style suitable for various types of electronic music. - People who dance the shuffle are often referred to as rockers. ▪ Waacking - It is characteristics include stylized posing and fast synchronized arm movement which means weaving arms. - It uses arms and wrists to create fluid, feminine movements that flow smoothly to the music. 2 ADDITIONAL: ▪ To execute the “Stomp” in Krumping. - Put your foot down on the ground forcibly and quickly, making a loud noise. ▪ Steps should you use for Charleston. - Starting position, heels together then heel out. - Step twist right forward, step left twist forward. - Step twist left backward step twist right backward. HEALTH 10 ▪ Global Health - Global health pertains to various health issues, concerns, and trends which go beyond national boundaries and call for global initiatives for the protection and promotion of peoples’ health across the world. ▪ Global Health Initiatives - Are programs set in motion by the United Nations through the World Health Organization and in partnership with the World Bank which targets specific health problems including but not limited to emerging and re-emerging diseases, climate change, environmental sanitation, mental health, tobacco regulation, and alcohol use. ▪ Millennium Development Goals - The United Nations Millennium Development Goals are eight targets that all 191 UN Member States have agreed to achieve by 2015. - The United Nations Millennium Declaration was signed in September 2000. HEALTH TRENDS ISSUES AND CONCERNS 1. Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger 2. Achieve Universal Primary Education 3. Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women 4. Reduce Child Mortality 5. Global Partnership for Development ADDITIONAL: ▪ Innovation for Uptake, Scale, and Equity in Immunization – It provides life-saving vaccines to its population, particularly in remote and underserved areas. ▪ Infuse – It targets preventable diseases through immunization. ▪ Digital Health Initiative - One program being explored focuses on designing and deploying computer-based solutions. ▪ Community health workers and health facility staff have benefited from digital health - They have played a significant role in strengthening health systems by providing real-time information and supporting decision-making processes. ▪ Reduce Maternal Mortality – Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) aims to reduce preventable deaths and create more resilient health systems. 3
