It aims to provide students with an appreciation of a broad range of styles in the various disciplines with consideration on their elements and principles and engage them to an integrative approach in studying arts. Through this subject, students will broaden and acquire the necessary creative tools that open opportunities in pursuing their individual career goals and aspirations. The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. ❑ A form of creative activity such as painting, music, literature, and dance. ❑ Art is an expression of our thoughts, emotions, intuitions, and desires, but it is even more personal than that: it’s about sharing the way we experience the world, which for ❑ Contemporary art is art made today by living artists. ❑ It reflects the complex issues that shape our diverse, global, and rapidly changing world. It has become a collaborative process and the audience plays an active role in reacting and constructing meaning about the work of art. Film 6.Dance 7.Architectu Visual Arts Visual Arts: This encompasses art forms that are primarily visual in nature, such as painting, sculpture, and photography. Painting: "Spoliarium" by Juan Luna is a renowned painting depicting fallen gladiators being dragged into a chamber. Sculpture: The "Oblation" by Guillermo Tolentino is an iconic statue symbolizing selfless offering. It is anybody of the written works. It refers to writing considered to be an art form or any single writing deemed to have artistic or intellectual value often due to deploying language in any ways that differ from ordinary usage. a. FICTION – Invention or fabrication as opposed to fact. b. NON-FICTION – It is a prose writing that is based on facts, real events and real people such as biography and history. c. POETRY – It is a type of literatutre or artistic writing that attempts to stir a reader’s imagination. LITERATURE Literature: This includes written works like novels, poems, and epics. Epic: "Biag ni Lam-ang" is a famous Ilocano epic poem that narrates the adventures of the hero Lam-ang. Novel: "Noli Me Tangere" by José Rizal is a significant novel that played a crucial role in Philippine history. It is a vocal or instrumental sounds combined in each way as to produce beauty of form, harmony and expression of emotion. a.HARANA – It is a serenade tradition in rural areas of the Philippines in which men may formally meet single lady visitors. b.KUNDIMAN – It is a genre of Music: This art form involves the creation of sounds and rhythms. Folk Music: The "Kundiman" is a traditional Filipino love song characterized by its soulful and melancholic tune. Instrument: The "Rondalla" is an ensemble of stringed instruments played with a plectrum or pick. THEATER Theater: This art form involves live performances by actors on stage. Play: "Florante at Laura" is a popular metrical romance by Francisco Balagtas, often adapted into theatrical performances. Musical: "Rak of Aegis" is a contemporary Filipino musical featuring the songs of the band Aegis. It consists of moving pictures that have been recorded so that they can be shown at the cinema or on television. It tells a story or shows a real situation. a. MOVIE FILM Film: This involves the production of movies as a form of artistic expression. Classic Film: "Himala" is a critically acclaimed film starring Nora Aunor, which tells the story of a young woman claiming to have witnessed an apparition of the Virgin Mary. Independent Film: "Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros" is an award-winning indie film about a young effeminate boy who falls in love with a policeman. DANCE Dance: This involves the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music. Folk Dance: "Tinikling" is a traditional dance that involves two people beating, tapping, and sliding bamboo poles on the ground and against each other while dancers step over and in between the poles. Ballet: "Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company" is known for performances that incorporate ballet techniques with traditional Filipino dances. It is the art of practice of designing and constructing buildings. It is also known as B i r d ’ s N e s t. This phenomenal stadium was built for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games (Mike Banfi). The idea for this amazing structure was the result of cooperation of Chinese and International Architects and Artist. (Paris, France) It was build as the entrance arch for the world. (Gustave Eiffel) –(Dubai) It was build in artificial island, one of the most luxurious and the 4th tallest hotel in the world. Its shape emulates a sail of the ship. (Tom Wright) – (Vatican, Rome Italy) It is the most famous Catholic Church in the The Beijing National Stadium The Eiff el Tower The Burj Al Arab Saint Peter’S BaSiliCa – Eli Broad- Due to the technological advances, new forms of expression came in the field of arts and modern art continuously developed which led to the contemporary arts nowadays (Luzviminda & Sayseng, 2016). BANGA This dance shows the elegant grace of Igorot tribe and the skill and strength of women. Angono Petroglyphs MANUNGGUL JAR Banga Langit, Lupa, at Impyerno. By: Josef Luciano Dans St. James the Apostle Church in Paete, Laguna 1850 St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral is located in Burgos, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. The original structure was built in 1574 and replaced as a church in 1641. The cathedral follows a Baroque architectural design. Cinco Marias (Tres Marias Series) by Federico Aguilar Alcuaz Federico Aguilas Alcuaz was born in Santa Cruz, Manila. Cinco Marias (Tres Marias Series) depicts the variety of domestic activities (Guillermo, 2007). Art Installation in Sand Dunes of Paoay by Leeroy New Leeroy New is one of the Philippines contemporary artists. He is born in General SANTOS City. This art installation of Leeroy New was made for the La Milagrosa Festival in Ilocos Norte. According to Leeroy New, the art installation symbolizes the great festivals, feasts and celebrations (Lape𝑛̃a, 2012). SPACE LINE SHAPE AND FORM COLOR VALUE Instructions for Mural-Making Activity 1. Form Groups: Divide the class into four groups. Each group will work together to create their part of the mural. 2. Theme: Assign a specific theme or let the groups choose one. Examples: 1. Group 1: Nature and Environment 2. Group 2: Culture and Traditions 3. Group 3: Technology and Progress 4. Group 4: Hopes and Dreams 3. Plan Your Design: 1. Spend 5-10 minutes discussing and sketching your ideas before starting. 2. Decide on the main elements, colors, and layout for your part of the mural. 4. Create the Mural: 1. Use your white cartolina as the base. 2. Use colored pens, crayons, markers, or cut-out materials to bring your design to life. 3. Collaborate as a group to ensure everyone contributes. 5. Connect the Pieces: 1. At the end of the activity, the four cartolinas will be joined together to form one big mural. Make sure your design can flow or connect with the other groups’ work. 6. Time Limit: You have 30-45 minutes to finish your mural. 7. Presentation: After completing the mural, each group will explain their work and how it relates to the theme.
