Music Pitch Names of G Clef and F Clef 1\. G Clef (Treble Clef) The lines (from bottom to top) are: E, G, B, D, F. (A way to remember this: "Every Good Boy Does Fine") The spaces (from bottom to top) are: F, A, C, E. (A way to remember this: "F-A-C-E" --- it spells the word FACE!) The G clef puts the note G on the 2nd line from the bottom. So, every time you see that G clef, the second line is always G! 2\. F Clef (Bass Clef) The lines (from bottom to top) are: G, B, D, F, A. (A way to remember this: "Great Big Ducks Fly Away") The spaces (from bottom to top) are: A, C, E, G. (A way to remember this: "All Cows Eat Grass") The F clef places the note F on the 4th line from the bottom. So, when you see that curly F clef, the 4th line is always F! Melodic Interval and Contour 1\. Melodic Interval A melodic interval is simply the distance between two notes that are played one after another (not at the same time). You can think of it like the space between two steps you take when you walk, but for music! Examples of Intervals: Unison : 2^nd^ and 2^nd^ lines 2nd: 1^st^ line and 2^nd^ space 3th: 2^nd^ line and 2^nd^ space\ \ 4th: 2^nd^ line and 3^rd^ space 5th: 2^nd^ and 4^th^ lines 6th: 2^nd^ line 4^th^ space The names like minor and major tell us how big the jump is, or how far apart the notes are. 2\. Melodic Contour Melodic contour refers to the shape or direction of a melody, or the way the notes go up and down. It's like drawing a line that goes up and down, and we call that line the melody\'s contour. Types of Contours: Ascending: The notes go up. For example, C to D to E. Descending: The notes go down. For example, E to D to C. Wave-shaped: The notes go up and down, like a wave in the ocean. For example, C to D to E to D to C. V-shaped: The notes go down first, then up, like a V. For example, E to D to C to D to E. The contour tells you how the melody feels: rising can feel happy or hopeful, and falling can feel sad or calming! Arts Historical Places and Cultural World Heritage Sites in the Philippines 1\. Historical Places in the Philippines The Philippines has lots of important historical places that tell the story of the country's past, from ancient times to today. Famous Places: Intramuros, Manila: The old walled city built by the Spanish. This is where many important events in Philippine history happened. Inside Intramuros is Fort Santiago, where the national hero José Rizal was held before he was executed. Rizal Park (Luneta): This park in Manila honors José Rizal, the hero who fought for Filipino independence. Rizal's monument stands in the park, reminding everyone of his bravery. 2\. Cultural World Heritage Sites in the Philippines The UNESCO World Heritage Sites are places in the Philippines that are so special they are protected because they represent the country's culture, history, and nature. Important World Heritage Sites: Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras: These are ancient rice fields built by the Ifugao people over 2,000 years ago. They're carved into the mountains! Historic Town of Vigan: A city that still has Spanish-era buildings, cobblestone streets, and a special old-time feel. Paoay Church: A huge, beautiful church in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, known for its big, strong buttresses (supports) and Baroque architecture. Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park: A beautiful underwater world with coral reefs and lots of fish, making it a special place for marine life. PE Target Games, Striking and Fielding, and Net/Wall Games 1\. Target Games In target games, the goal is to aim at a specific target and try to hit it. Examples: Darts: You throw small sharp objects (darts) at a round board. Archery: You shoot arrows from a bow at a target. Golf: You hit a ball towards a hole on a course. Key Skills: Focus, accuracy, and aiming are important. You need to stay calm and concentrate on hitting the target! 2\. Striking and Fielding Games These are games where one team hits (strikes) something, and the other team tries to catch or field it. Examples: Baseball: One team bats while the other team tries to catch the ball. Cricket: Similar to baseball, but with different rules. Softball: Like baseball, but with a bigger ball and shorter field. Key Skills: Hitting the ball (batting), catching, throwing, and running to the bases! 3\. Net/Wall Games In net/wall games, you hit a ball over a net or against a wall, and the goal is for your opponent to miss it. Examples: Tennis: You hit a ball over a net using a racket. The other player tries to hit it back. Volleyball: A ball is hit over a net, and players on each team try to prevent the other team from returning it. Key Skills: Serving, volleying, positioning, and teamwork! Health Puberty, Sex, and Gender 1\. Puberty Puberty is the time when your body changes from being a child to becoming an adult. These changes can be physical and emotional. What Happens? For girls: They start getting breasts, their hips widen, and they may begin menstruating (getting their period). For boys: They grow facial hair, their voice deepens, and they get more muscle. 2\. Sex Sex is about whether someone is male or female, and it's determined by their biology (their body parts, chromosomes, etc.). Most people are either male or female, but some people might be born with both male and female characteristics --- this is called being intersex. 3\. Gender Gender is more about who you feel you are inside and how you want to express yourself. You might feel like a boy, girl, or neither. People can be: Cisgender: Someone whose gender matches the sex they were assigned at birth. Transgender: Someone whose gender is different from the one they were assigned at birth. Non-binary: Someone who doesn't feel fully like a boy or a girl.
