The Philippines, like many developing nations, has utilized ICT to enhance teaching and learning, addressing similar issues and limitations as its nations.\ \ °The government and private sector have implemented programs to provide schools with computer hardware, software, internet connectivity, and teacher training, but significant gaps remain in implementation.\ \ ○ The implementation of ICT in schools faces several weaknesses, including\ \ **Lack of documentation** - There is just no data available in developing nations to assist decide how to allocate limited educational resources or how well they are being used.\ \ ** Lack of coordination between public and private sector efforts**- The disparity in priorities and objectives between public and private sectors in an ICT program can result in unbalanced strategies, duplicated efforts, unnecessary costs, and inefficiency.\ \ **Inadequate teacher preparation**- Without proper training, instructors who attempt to utilize ICT are likely to do it incorrectly.\ \ Therefore, Philippine national policy has been formulated in the advanced use of ICT in education.\ \ The Senate Committee on Education, in cooperation with the DECS (Department of Education, Culture, and Sports), launched Project **CARES** in March 2001.\ \ **Project \"CARES\" goal\ **- To improve ICT use and application in public elementary and secondary schools across the country.\ - To respond to the need for accurate and timely data that administrators and teachers need to manage their classes.\ \ **CARES** will provide public schools and district offices with\ Computer-based management and operations support tools and eventually make elementary and high school principals more efficient and productive.  **B.) Monitoring data from emails\ \ **Data Retention** -- the storage and use of information from communication systems.\ ex. Archiving old emails\ Preserving backup copies\ \ **Issue No. 4: E-pollutants from E-waste\ **A large amount of E-waste is generated by ICT.\ E-pollutants from e-waste come from the **hazardous materials** found in discarded electronic devices.\ \ ex. old computers\       smartphones\ televisions, and\ batteries.
