It can also refer to rules or guidelines that establish what conduct is right and wrong for individuals and for groups. What is Morals? Morals are the prevailing standards of behavior that enable people to live cooperatively in groups. It refers to what societies sanction as right and acceptable Why should we study ethics? Ethical Theories Deontology Hedonism Social Contract 02 Consequentialism Theory Utilitarianism 06 Virtue 01 Deontology Deontology - An ethical theory that uses rules to distinguish right from wrong - associated with philosopher Immanuel Kant - follow universal moral laws, such as “Don’t lie. Don’t steal.
