## Categories of Sports and Their Nature ### Types of Sports - Individual - Dual - Team ### Sports - An activity that requires physical actions and skills where individual or teams compete under a set of rules. ### Individual Sport - Played by one participant on each competing side. ### Dual Sport - Played by two competing pairs. ### Team Sport - Played by three or more players on each opposing sides. ### Individual / Dual Sports - Unlike with team sports, a player's success or failure in individual sports is totally dependent on his own ability. - Individual sports athletes are completely responsible for every play and cannot rely on the help of other teammates. - This builds coping skills and resilience while developing self-esteem and confidence. ### Team Sports - The cooperation and specialization of roles on teams. - The camaraderie, the character building, and of course, the teamwork, are just some of the positives to being a part of a team. ## Managing Stress Through Sports ### What is Stress? - Stress is a biological and psychological response experienced on encountering a threat, which we feel we do not have the resources to cope with. ### How can sports help you manage your stress? 1.
