Also called health care agent/proxy. The person can be a spouse, family member, friend, or member of a faith community that is 18 years of age or older Ethics Fidelity Fulfilling commitments made to others Loyalty Negligence Nonmaleficence Do no harm Beneficence To do good Justice Treating all patients fairly Veracity Telling the truth
