## INTERNAL FACTORS OF VALUES Values are defined as beliefs and principles that people follow and do. ### Internal Factors: These are factors found within a person. 1. **CONSCIENCE**: It is the person's inner sense of what is right and wrong toward one's behavior or action. 2. **Responsible use of freedom**: It is a state wherein a person has the right and chance to speak, act, express, and pursue happiness without external restrictions that will hinder him/her from doing what he/she feels is right. 3. **Being sensitive to wrong actions**: Being sensitive is being quick to detect and respond to changes, influences, actions, or behavior. 4. **Living the virtues**: Virtues help and guide the person in achieving the kind of person that he/she would like to be in the future. A person can be easily influenced by what his/her culture dictates and his/her personal selfish desires unless he/she strongly hold to his/her virtues. 5. **Self-discipline**: It is the ability of a person to control and motivate himself/herself to do what is right. It is also the ability to manage his/her emotions, conquer his/her fears, and acknowledge his/her weaknesses and imperfections. 6. **Moral Integrity**: It is the adherence of a person to moral and ethical standards. A person with moral integrity can be brave enough to do what he/she thinks is right and share his/her intentions with other people.
