MATERIALS & COMPONENTS A soldering iron is a hand tool used to melt solder, allowing it to flow into the joint between two workpieces, usually metals, to create a secure electrical connection. Notes: 1. Do not use soldering iron higher than 30watts Recommendation: Soldering iron from Mr. DIY is very reliable and cheap. Soldering lead is an alloy, typically made of tin and lead, used to join metal components by melting with a soldering iron to create electrical connections. NOTEs: Do not buy cheap soldering lead as it might affect the solder quality. Recommendation: ISHIKAWA (0.8mm) brand is one of the best soldering lead. are used for handling small components, positioning them precisely on circuit boards, and removing or replacing delicate parts without damaging them. is a mechanical device popularized as a solder sucker. This tool is used for removing the solder from a printed circuit board. A circuit board, or printed circuit board (PCB), is a flat board that electrically connects electronic components using conductive pathways, tracks, or traces etched from copper sheets. A 3mm LED light is a small, light-emitting diode with a diameter of 3 millimeters. It's commonly used in electronics for indicating status, providing illumination, or for decorative purposes. Wire cutters are commonly used to cut copper, brass, iron, aluminum, and steel wire. Alternative: Nail Cutter The MAX7219 IC is a multiplexing chip used to control up to 64 LEDs or 8-digit 7-segment displays, simplifying LED control with serial communication. A 24-pin IC holder is a socket that securely holds a 24-pin integrated circuit (IC) on a circuit board, allowing easy installation and removal without soldering directly to the board. A capacitor stores energy and filters signals. It is commonly used for filtering, decoupling, and smoothing signals in electronic circuits, providing stable voltage and reducing noise. The unit for its capacitance is Farads (F). An example of this are: 100µF electrolytic capacitor and 10nF ceramic capacitor is used to limit current, divide voltage, or provide specific resistance in electronic circuits. The unit for its resistance is ohms (Ω). A resistors comes in two forms: THT (through-hole technology) SMD (surface-mount device) Example value: 10 Ω 330 Ω 150 Ω 5.1k Ω 4.3k Ω The ESP32 MCU is a versatile microcontroller with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, used for a wide range of applications including IoT devices, smart home systems, and wireless communication projects. An 8-pin female header is used to connect and interface with 8-pin male connectors or pins, commonly used in electronics for making detachable connections between circuit boards or components. The BSS138 is an N-channel MOSFET (Metal-Oxide- Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) used for switching and amplification in electronic circuits.
