Republic of the Philippines Department of Education Region IV-A CALABARZON SCHOOLS DIVISION OF DASMARIÑAS CITY CONGRESSIONAL INTEGRATED HIGH SCHOOL VIA VERDE VILLAGE, SAN AGUSTIN II, CITY OF DASMARIÑAS, CAVITE First Semester, SY 2024-2025 REVIEWER FOR PERIODICAL EXAM H.O.P.E 3 LESSON 1 CHEERDANCE A student who participates in cheerdance practices regularly, such as Engaging in team activities reports feeling less anxious and more confident. A cheerdancer demonstrate improvement in endurance, balance, and coordination after several months of practicing the combination of activities such as Jumping, tumbling and stunt. Cheer Dance Motion 1. “High V" motion - In a 'V' shape above the head, fingers straight and palms facing out 2. "Low V" motion - Extended downward in a 'V' shape 3. "T” motion - Arms straight out to the sides, forming a 'T' shape 4. "Daggers" motion - In front of your shoulders, elbows bent at a 45- degree angle 5. "Touchdown" motion - Arms straight up, parallel to each other, Fist close 6. "Low Touchdown" motion - Arms are extended straight down, parallel to each other 7. "Clap" motion” - Clap hands in front of the chest with energy and enthusiasm Cheerdance stunts and routines the most important consideration for ensuring the safety of the flyer is the height of the stunt to create a successful cheer stunt routine. When designing a cheerleading routine that includes stunts, the element that is essential for maintaining synchronization is Consistent timing and formation. To amaze the audience during a performance, the fundamental aspect to consider when creating a stunt is The complexity of the stunts. Maintaining fluidity and flow of routine is the primary goal of incorporating transitions between different stunts. When planning a team stunt performance, Individual skill levels is the most important factor that should be prioritized to enhance teamwork. When evaluating a cheerleader's tumbling performance, Execution and form of each skill is most important to assess for technical proficiency. In assessing a team tumbling routine, the fluidity the of skills is one of the criteria that should be considered to determine the effectiveness of the routine. Round-off back handspring. is typically considered a foundational move that leads to more advanced tumbling techniques in cheerdance. LESSON 2 TARGET HEART RATE Importance of knowing your THR Improves cardiovascular fitness: by maintaining a heart rate that challenges but doesn’t overburden your heart, you strengthen your cardiovascular system effectively. helps track progress: monitoring your heart rate during exercise can be a concrete measure of improvement over time. as your fitness level increases, activities that previously raised your heart rate significantly will have less effect, indicating increased cardiovascular strength. knowing one’s target heart rate help in personalizing an exercise program Allows for monitoring intensity to suit specific fitness goals Optimizes efficiency of Cardiovascular system: THR helps you work out at the intensity that best supports your fitness goals. for example, if you’re aiming to burn fat, staying in the moderate-intensity range (typically 60-80% of your maximum heart rate) is more effective. To determine your Resting Heart Rate (RHR) accuratel, check your pulse in the morning. it is important to exercise within the target heart rate zone during physical activity to maximize cardiovascular benefits and improves fitness levels. How to get your target heart rate STEP 1. MHR – ( MAXIMUM HEART RATE) – SUBTRACTION MHR = 220 – AGE STEP 2. RHR – (RESTING HEART RATE) – SUBTRACTION - SET THE TIMER TO 60 SECONDS - COUNT THE NUMBER OF BEATS STEP 3. HRR – (HEART RATE RESERVE) – SUBTRACTION - HRR = MHR – RHR STEP 4. THR – TARGET HEART RATE – MULTIPLICATION AND ADDITION - = COMPUTE THE 60 – 80% OF YOUR TARGET HEART RATE USING KARVONEN FORMULA - 60% = (HRR X 0.60) + RHR - 80% = (HRR X 0.80) + RHR Exercises. A 35-year-old individual has a resting heart rate of 70 bpm and a maximum heart rate of 185 bpm. What is their target heart rate range during moderate-intensity exercise, maintaining 60-80% of their maximum heart rate? MHR – 185 RHR – 70 bpm THR – - (60% = (HRR X 0.60) + RHR = - (80% = (HRR X 0.80) + RHR = If a 50-year-old person's resting heart rate is 65 bpm and their maximum heart rate is 170 bpm, what should their target heart rate be when exercising at 60-75% of their maximum heart rate? MHR – 170bpm RHR – 65 bpm THR – - (60% = (HRR X 0.60) + RHR = - (75% = (HRR X 0.75) + RHR = LESSON 3, STRESS MANAGEMENT One primary benefit of using dance to manage stress, it allows self- expression.
