Managerial Process and its importance Presented by Group 3 ACTIVITY SURVIVE AGAINST THE ODDS The class will be divided into 2 groups A scenario will be given by the reporters Each group must provide 5 essential items they need base on the scenario and 5 items from natural environment that could also help them. A 3 minute discussion will be provided, afterwards they must name their items. Each group will be given 3 minutes to constructively criticize the other party’s choices. Meaning and definition MANAGEMENT IS A PROCESS OF PLANNING, DECISION MAKING, ORGANIZING, LEADING, MOTIVATION AND CONTROLLING THE HUMAN RESOURCES, FINANCIAL, PHYSICAL, AND INFORMATION RESOURCES OF AN ORGANIZATION TO REACH ITS GOALS EFFICIENTLY AND EFFECTIVELY. Rome - Julio-Claudian dynasty 27 BC to 68 AD: The Romans introduced a hierarchy of authority and accountability. Historical background Industrial Revolution Mass production: The Industrial Revolution (1750–1900) led to mass production, where workers performed one small task repeatedly on assembly lines. Scientific management: Frederick Winslow Taylor, known as the "Father of Scientific Management", developed methods to increase efficiency by breaking down tasks into smaller components. Managing large numbers of employees: Managers needed to find new ways to motivate employees to perform. Historical background 20th century Formalization of management education: The formal study of management as a discipline emerged in the early 20th century. Peter Drucker: Businessweek called Drucker "the man who invented management". CONTROLLING "Controlling is determining what is being accomplished - that is, evaluating performance and, if necessary, applying corrective measures so that performance takes place according to plans". - Terry and Franklin.
