GRADE 6 ANNUAL EXAM REVISION MATERIAL TAJWEED LESSON: Key notes: IKHFAA Ikhfaa (‫ )إخفاء‬is a Tajweed rule in recitation that involves concealing or hiding the sound. It occurs when Ikhfaa letters, are followed by the letter "‫( "ن‬noon) saakinah or tanween. The letters of ikhfaa: ((‫ ظ‬،‫ ض‬،‫ ت‬،‫ ف‬،‫ ز‬،‫ ط‬،‫ د‬،‫ س‬،‫ ق‬،‫ ش‬،‫ ج‬،‫ ك‬،‫ ث‬،‫ ذ‬،‫ص‬ have to give two counts ghunnah Reason: Ikhfaa happens when ‫ ن‬sakinah or tanween meets certain letters that are CLOSE to it either in exit point and characteristics, only in exit point, or only in characteristics. This makes the ‫ ن‬sound partially hidden and smoothly blended with the next letter. IQLAAB Iqlaab (‫ )إقلاب‬is a Tajweed rule in recitation that involves the changing or conversion of the letter "‫( "ن‬noon) saakinah into a "‫( "م‬meem) with a Sukoon. This rule applies when the letter "‫( "ن‬noon) saakinah or tanween is followed by the letter "‫"ب‬. And you have to give two counts ghunnah as well. The letter of iqlaab: (‫)ب‬ Reason: Iqlaab is applied because when a ‫ ن‬sakinah or tanween meets a ‫ب‬, it is difficult to pronounce smoothly. To make it easier, the ‫ ن‬changes into a ‫م‬, since ‫ م‬shares qualities with ‫ن‬ and has the same exit point as ‫ب‬, allowing for a smoother transition in pronunciation. MOSQUE MANNERS: IMPORTANCE OF MOSQUES IN ISLAM ((REFERENCES ARE VERY IMPORTANT)) :) They are the houses of Allah ‫ﷺ‬on earth; He attributed them to Himself to show their significance. Allah ‫ﷻ‬said: ً َ ‫َ َ َّ ْ َ َ َ ه َ َ َ ْ ُ َ َ ه‬ ‫اّلِل أ َحدا‬ ِ ‫ّلِل فَل تدعوا مع‬ ِ ِ ‫اجد‬ ِ ‫وأن المس‬ (And He revealed that mosques are for Allah…….) [Sūrat Al-Jinn: 18]. They are the best and dearest places for Allah ‫ ;ﷻ‬the Prophet ‫ﷺ‬said: “The dearest parts on the face of earth for Allah are its mosques” [Narrated by Muslim]. Another evidence of the importance of mosques is that the first thing the Prophet ‫ﷺ‬did upon arrival to Madīnah was to build the mosque. THE VALUE OF GOING TO MOSQUES: o The Prophet ‫ﷺ‬said: “The reward for prayer performed by a person with a group is more than 20 times greater than that of the prayer performed in one's house or shop. When one performs Wudu' perfectly and then proceeds to the mosque with the sole intention of performing prayer, then for every step he takes towards the mosque, he is upgraded one degree in reward and one of his sins is eliminated until he enters the mosque. And when he enters the mosque, he is considered as performing prayer as long as it is the prayer which prevents him from leaving the mosque; and the angels will keep on supplicating Allah for him as long as he remains in his place of prayer. They say: ‘O Allah! Have mercy on him; O Allah! Forgive his sins; O Allah! Accept his repentance.’ This will carry on as long as he does not pass wind.” [Narrated by al-Bukhārī and Muslim]. Hadith 2: (VERY IMPORTANT) According to Ibn ʿAbbās the Messenger of Allah ‫صلى هللا عليه وسلم‬said while preaching him: “Take advantage of five before five: : your youth before your old age, your health before your illness, your riches before your poverty, your free time before your work, and your life before your death” [Narrated by al-Ḥākim]. Hadith 3: Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When the son of Adam wakes up in the morning, all of his limbs defer to the tongue and they say: Fear Allah regarding us, for we are only a part of you. If you are upright, we are upright. If you are crooked, we are crooked.” Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2407 (GO THROUGH SEERAH AND CASE STUDY IN BRING YOURSELF TO ACCOUNT WORKSHEET) SURAH MULK General meaning of the verses from 1 to 5 ( Reflecting on the power of Allah). Allah, gives us some pieces of evidence of His power of creation; He is the Creator who is capable of everything. Allah , says that He created life and death to test us and created seven heavens in layers, one over the other. He gives evidence of His perfect creation in which man cannot find any inconsistency because such creation is made by Allah who perfected everything. He made the stars with different uses, such as: to beautify the sky, punishment for the shaitaan and navigate. Such evidence invites us to think, reflect, use our minds, and strengthen our beliefs. General meaning of the verses from 6 to 11 ( state of disbelievers and using our mind to reach the truth). Talks about the fate of all those who disbelieve in their Lord, when they are cast into it they will hear a roaring / inhaling sound as it boils and as though it will burst with rage. The keepers will ask them whether a warner from Allah came to them or not. They will accept the fact Warner came to them but they lied and said to them they’ve gone astray. They will wish if they had listened and understood then they would’ve not been in this situation. General meaning of the verses from 12 to 14 ( The reward for believers who fear Allah, when unseen: Believers who fear Allah, when they are hidden from the eyes of people, avoid sins, do good deeds and obey Allah, when nobody except Him sees them, and observe Him in their private and public behaviour, deserve reward by Allah, for them is the grat reward and forgiveness. Allah knows everything whether we hide it or make it public. He knows what is in our hearts. ELEMENTS OF THE PRAYER GENERAL NOTES: OBLIGATORY ACTS OF PRAYER If the person performing prayer forgets any of the obligatory acts (some scholars call them pillars) purposefully or not of prayer, this cannot be compensated for by performing prostration, because these acts must be done by themselves VOLUNTARY ACTS OF PRAYER voluntary acts can be compensated for by performing the prostration of forgetfulness if missed by mistake. DISLIKED ELEMENTS OF PRAYER Things that are disliked to be done during prayer, but they do not nullify it. There are many of these things, including the following: looking around, lack of humility, looking at a mobile phone during prayer, confusing others by reciting aloud, etc. REFERENCES: 1- Consequences of dealing with Riba.
