ANSWER 1.1 Mystery means beyond comprehension; something whose meaning is inexhaustible and superabundant. 2. How is the Blessed Trinity a mystery? The Blessed Trinity is a mystery because God is Really Himself and by the limitation of our capacity to know Him, prevents us to Him totally. 3. What is the relationship between faith and understanding of the Holy Trinity? Faith is our personal relationship with God. It is our response to God’s revelation. 4. How is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit become one? Each Person is the whole God, the Three Persons constitute one God, one divine nature 5. How is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit distinct from each other? The Father is neither the Son nor the Holy Spirit; they are one God but not identical 6. We become open to the possibility of coming to know God and His love personally. 7. How does the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist become an encounter of God’s loving presence? In the Eucharist, we listen to the Word of the Father and receive His Son Jesus through the host. In the Eucharist, the Holy Spirit moves us to experience the Divine. UNIT 1.3 ANSWER 1. Why did Jesus become human? He was sent by the Father in order to save us from the slavery of sin and to give example of holiness. 5. How is Jesus a true God? Jesus redeemed the world as sent by the Father in the Holy Spirit. It is the Father’s plan that everyone will be saved. 3. In what way are we sanctified by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? God sends His Spirit to share His divine life with us. By sharing His divine life, we participate in the glory and holiness of God. 4. Being sent implies uniqueness and distinctiveness of the working. It does not mean from absence to presence.
