REFLECTION: As a concerned citizen, this kind of issues in the Philippines is very alarming. I myself have family members who is working overseas because of better opportunities and I only see them once or twice a year or maybe even not. If only these kind of issues can be solved in an easy and swift manner then we would all be thriving by now. But the world is not a perfect one, and these kind of issues is not within our control. I feel sad for other people growing up without their parents because of them being OFW, but as a student there is nothing I can do. I commute daily from house to school and experience a 1.5-3 hr trip from Pasig to FEU and vice versa. Due to heavy traffic I can’t function well because of fatigue. What more are the blue collar workers who is tired physically, experience traffic and receive provincial rate minimum salary. They are overworked but underpaid. It’s a sad reality in the Philippines.
