Division Officer: Responsible to the Department Head for the proper performance of duties assigned to his/her division and for the conduct of his/her subordinates. Responsible for training personnel and preparing them for battle. f. Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO)/ Leading Petty Officer (LPO): Designated by and responsible to the Division Officer. Ship’s 3-M Coordinator: Responsible to the CO for the ships 3-M systems in both training and management. k. OMBUDSMAN: Appointed by the CO, the ombudsman works under the guidance of the CO, and is the direct liaison between dependents and the CO. l. Financial Specialist: Coordinates the program and aids in providing financial information, training, and counseling to command members. m. DAPA: Responsible to the CO for all drug/alcohol abuse level 1 programs. Duties include administration of the program locally, conduct admin screenings of identified alcohol/drug abusers, conduct abuse prevention and education programs, and prepare reports. n. Medical Department: Responsible for maintaining the health of the crew, making inspections, and advising the CO on hygiene and sanitation affecting the command. o. Safety Officer: Responsible for a comprehensive safety program based on the objectives established by the CO. Oversees unit-wide planning of Safety Program; participate in mishap investigations; submit required reports; maintain and analyze safety records; participate in zone inspections; disseminate safety information to the crew; serve as advisor/recorder of the Safety Council; serve as Chairperson for the Enlisted Safety Committee; act as hazardous materials/waste coordinator. p. Divisional Safety Officer: The Division Officer shall be the Safety Officer for that division. Is responsible for assigning a Divisional Safety Petty Officer; ensure all assigned work spaces are inspected and all personnel properly trained; take prompt action to correct any deficiencies; ensure mishaps and near mishaps are investigated promptly. q. Security Manager: Responsible to the CO for the management of the command information and personnel security program.
