Fire produces a thick and heavy smoke which will prevent you from seeing your surroundings. Thereby at the preparatory period or before a fire, it would help if you prepare an exit plan. Know the post-evacuation plans of your location. Ensure a fire extinguisher. Look for fire exits and memorize floor plans. S T I C A L O O C A N Do not panic. Do not run. Do not use elevators. Find the emergency alarm button if you are inside an establishment or school and press it to sound. Protect yourself from the fire. Call the fire department. S T I C A L O O C A N Call the fire department if they are not yet alerted. Once you are out of the burning premises or building, never attempt to go back to save things or lives. Let the authorized personnel do it for you. Once you are already outside, go to a safe place, check yourself for injuries, and stay alert. Stay away from the building that has been damaged by fire unless the authorities already allowed people to enter the area. When operating a fire extinguisher, tell residents to remember the word PASS: PULL THE PIN. HOLD THE EXTINGUISHER WITH THE NOZZLE POINTING AWAY FROM YOU AND RELEASE THE LOCKING MECHANISM. AIM LOW. POINT THE EXTINGUISHER AT THE BASE OF THE FIRE. SQUEEZE THE LEVER SLOWLY AND EVENLY SWEEP THE NOZZLE FROM SIDE-TO-SIDE. 2ND QUARTER S T I C A L O O C A N Observance of the Fire Prevention Week 2ND QUARTER S T I C A L O O C A N The annual observance of Fire Prevention Month during March is based on Presidential Proclamation 115-A issued on November 17, 1966. It is meant to provide education and awareness during the summer months to lessen the incidence of fire in the country. 2ND QUARTER S T I C A L O O C A N How can we inspire and remind Filipinos to take precautions to prevent fires at homes, in offices, and in different communities under the theme "Kaligtasan sa Sunog: Alamin, Gawin, at Isabuhay Natin". 2ND QUARTER S T I C A L O O C A N FIRE PREVENTION MONTH: ACACIA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL S T I C A L O O C A N If you want to help in case of a fire incident, you can provide direct help in one of the ways identified below. Inform the local fire station Clear the way for the firefighting crew Do not put yourself and others at risk Do not question the established chain of command.
