Designing a 12-Hour Course on AI Tools for Education and Research Objective You are tasked with designing a 12-hour course focused on the effective use of AI tools in education and research. This course should be similar in structure to the one you’ve taken and should integrate AI tools to assist with its development. Aim to use AI tools as extensively as possible, including language models, content generators, quiz tools, and slide creators. If you use a large language model (LLM), please use ChatGPT and provide links to all conversations. Deliverables Your submission should include the following: 1. Course Structure and Syllabus ○ Define the overall course structure (e.g., number of sessions, topics per session, and learning objectives). ○ Create a syllabus that outlines the key topics covered, reading materials, activities, and project milestones. 2. Course Content ○ Develop materials that describe each session’s content and objectives in detail (e.g., lecture notes, lesson plans, exercises). ○ Highlight how AI tools will be integrated throughout the course, both in content delivery and practice. 3. Lecture Slides ○ Prepare lecture slides for each session. The slides should be well-organized, visually appealing, and focused on key concepts. You can use AI-powered tools to design them. 4. Quizzes ○ Design quizzes for each section of the course. You can use Quizgecko, or any other AI-based quiz generator of your choice to create them. ○ Include at least 5 questions per section to test students’ understanding. 5. LLM Prompt Design: AI Tutor/Examiner ○ Create a prompt for a language model (such as ChatGPT) to act as a tutor or oral examiner for one or more topics in your course. The prompt should specify: The role of the LLM (e.g., tutor or examiner) The topic to cover The tone and style of interaction (e.g., Socratic questioning, structured feedback) Additionally to the above content you should provide: Documentation: Provide all materials in a clearly structured folder or document for easy navigation. References to AI Tools: Mention the AI tools used for each deliverable and reflect on their usefulness. Links to ChatGPT Conversations: For any deliverable where you used ChatGPT, include the conversation link or transcript. Feel free to explore creative ideas and tools to enhance your course design.
