CAPSTONE PROJECT APRIL ANN T. PEÑA, MA, LPT 1st SEMESTER, AY 2024 - 2025 A parameter to grade the students’ understanding at the end of the course. A way for students to showcase problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills. A culminating project Has the goal to encourage students to plan independently, learn to stick to deadlines, carry out detailed analysis, and work in teams. Maybe presented as case studies, research papers, surveys, outcome-based evaluations, and others. The student needs to think of a capstone project idea related to the course or specialization, and then write a paper. It should be connected to the future specialization, and requires strong skills in teamwork, and critical and analytical thinking. Has three types: 1. Theoretical – data analytics assessed from an academic perspective e.g. mathematics, technological, etc. 2. Hybrid – data analytics applied to a constructed problem e.g. health, finance, social, etc. 3.
