Mrs. Dominguez Lining up The welcome bell rings at 7:56. The day begins promptly at 8:00 / 10:00 (C2) Please make 2 straight lines in front of our classroom Ladies: line up single file along the wall. You will enter first Gentlemen: line up single file along the grass *Keep middle of the hallway clear for students who are walking to their classes* greeting Why is this important? Pledge of allegiance No sitting or half-standing Hoods off Face the front of the room Only talking allowed is the reciting of the pledge of allegiance starting class Enter quietly and take the quickest path to my seat Fill out my daily agenda Begin “Bell work” assignment You only have the first 15 minutes of class each day. Its now homework :) reminder: class has started ONCE YOU WALK INTO THE DOOR core 1 schedule 8:00-8:05 Morning Announcements 15 min - Bell Work 45 min - ELA Block (Reading/Writing) 30 min - Social Studies 9:41 Dismissal for Brunch core 2 schedule 10:00 Class begins 15 min - Bell Work 30 min - Social Studies 10:47-11:27 PE 45 min - ELA Block (reading/writing) 12:15 Dismissal for lunch DING DING! When you hear the bell, you are expected to: Stop whatever it is you are doing Stop talking Look up at the teacher Actively listen in order to follow directions LETS PRACTICE class expectations 1. Come to class on-time and prepared every day! a. Bring a charged laptop, pencil, AR book, and notebooks DAILY 2. Be respectful to yourself, your peers, the school, and your teachers! 3. Keep your hands, feet, and items to yourself at all times 4. Try your best and give your best effort daily! 5. Have a positive attitude! can i charge my laptop? No, laptops are to be charged every night at home. Why? Not enough outlets Someone can trip and fall You are expected to come to class prepared take a look under your desk? what do you notice? Behavior 1st Offense: Verbal warning 2nd Offense: Logical Consequence (ex. move seats) 3rd Offense: Time lost at break/lunch. Parent notification. 4th Offense: Time lost at break/lunch, citation, Student calls parent with teacher **Continuous offenses may result in Parent in sitting class with you and/or enrolling in structured lunch and campus beautification. The ONLY person responsible for your actions and words is YOU** Attendance I look forward to seeing each of your faces daily 96% attendance in Core 1 each week = prizes! Students with 100%+ attendance each trimester earn a field trip: Movies Bowling 100% = Universal Studios!!!!! (or another amusement park) Being tardy and leaving early does count toward these days Track your days on StudentVue 17 absenses/tardies = NO PROMOTION hand signals bathroom *Please use the bathroom before class, during break, & lunch* We are human. If you MUST go to the bathroom during class, I have 3 rules: 1. It must not be when I am instructing 2. It must not be during independent reading time/bell work 3. 1 person at a time. No exceptions Blue Card Pencils Class and JFK expectation: Come to school prepared. THIS MEANS BRING A PENCIL I only lend out 6 pencils a class period. If you need a pencil: Remove a pencil from the clip on the whiteboard Sign your name in the empty space Return the pencil to the clip before leaving Pencils This is not cool. Do not do it. grading A = 90%-100% B = 80%-89% C = 70%-79% D= 60%-69% F = 60% & BELOW Grades are updated in Student Vue every wednesday! Report cards Grades get sent home 4 times a Trimester 3 weeks = Mrs. Dominguez 6 weeks = Office mails them home 9 weeks = Mrs. Dominguez 12 weeks = Final trimester grades on Report card Do we have homework? Any unfinished classwork/bell work is homework! Parent signatures in your Agenda! WHAT IF I AM ABSENT? “Did I miss anything?” Of course you did! We have an assignment everyday! Check the folder(s) at our “Student Center” Check TEAMS, ask a partner, or ask Mrs. Dominguez what you missed You have 1 week from the missed day to turn in absent work can I turn in late work? You will receive 3 passes a Trimester that allow you to turn in work without a penalty. If no pass is attached, I will not accept it. **Absent work does not count unless you turn it in after the deadline - I keep track of absences** If you choose to not use your passes, you may turn in your pass at the end of the trimester in order to earn extra credit (5 pts per pass, 15 total) Lets take a class tour end of class The bell DOES NOT dismiss you. I do Do not start packing up until I tell the class it is time. I pinky promise I am aware of the clock. Failure to comply will results in losing out on minutes from break or lunch october-December I will be gone October, November, and December You will have a Guest Teacher for the entire time :) You are expected to follow and uphold my classroom policies and also the guest-teacher’s while I am gone
