‭Activities Rules‬ ‭Basketball‬ ‭The height of the basketball rim is 10 ft.‬ ‭The free throw line is 15 ft.‬ ‭The three point line is 19’9.‬ ‭Every basket is worth‬‭2 points‬‭inside the 3 point‬‭arc‬ ‭Regulation basketball is played 5v5. In class we played 3v3 or 4v4‬ ‭Traveling‬‭– moving without dribbling the basketball‬‭to gain an advantage‬ ‭ ouble Dribble‬‭– dribbling with two hands on the ball‬‭or stopping dribbling then starting to‬ D ‭dribble again‬ ‭Pivot‬‭– keeping one foot in place while moving the‬‭other foot (to avoid traveling)‬ ‭Foul‬‭– illegal contact with an opponent‬ ‭ ake Back‬‭– In half-court basketball the defense must‬‭take the ball back behind the 3 point arc‬ T ‭after every change of possession before they can try to score a basket.‬ ‭Winners Outs –‬‭In half-court basketball, if a team‬‭scores a basket they get the ball again‬ ‭ heck Up –‬‭After a made basket or a dead ball situation,‬‭check the ball at the top of the 3 point‬ C ‭line area by passing it to the defensive player. The defensive player will toss the ball back once‬ ‭the defense is ready. The ball must be passed in for the check..‬ ‭When a player is in the‬‭act of shooting and is fouled‬‭,‬‭the basket will count if they make it.‬ ‭The two passes used the most in basketball are the‬‭chest and bounce pass‬‭.‬ ‭It is always quicker to pass the ball around then to dribble the ball around.‬ ‭When‬‭catching‬‭a basketball you should always have‬‭your‬‭hands ready‬‭.‬ ‭ hen‬‭shooting‬‭a basketball you should have your‬‭elbow‬‭in‬‭, bend your knees, eye on target,‬ W ‭and follow through.‬ ‭ hen‬‭dribbling‬‭the basketball you should use the pads of your fingers, about waist high,‬ W ‭always keep your‬‭eyes up‬‭, and keep the ball under‬‭control.‬ ‭ hen‬‭rebounding‬‭a basketball the defensive player‬‭should have the advantage, don’t get too‬ W ‭far under the basket, always turn and use your body to box out your opponent, and then go after‬ ‭the ball.‬ ‭ here are two types of defenses used in basketball.‬ ‭Zone and man to man‬‭. In PE we played‬ T ‭man to man defense.‬ ‭ hen playing‬‭defense‬‭you should always be in a ready‬‭position, have your hands out, be on‬ W ‭your toes, and stay low.‬ ‭James Naismith‬‭was the inventor of basketball.‬ ‭Soccer‬ ‭Every‬‭goal‬‭is worth 1 point.‬ ‭In‬‭regulation soccer‬‭there are 11 players on the field.‬ ‭When we played indoor soccer we used‬‭line changes‬‭.‬ ‭A player can never use their‬‭hands‬‭during play.‬ ‭In PE class there was‬‭no out of bounds‬‭.‬ ‭A player should use their‬‭instep‬‭when kicking the‬‭ball.‬ ‭A player can control the ball up the field by using their feet. (‬‭Dribbling‬‭)‬ ‭ player can use other body parts to hit the ball other then their hands and arms. (head, chest,‬ A ‭etc..)‬ ‭The‬‭goalie‬‭can use their hands inside the goalie box.‬ ‭In PE to score a goal the ball must go in‬‭between‬‭the cones and hit the blue mat‬ ‭Rough play could result in a player to be ejected from the game.‬ ‭Yellow Card‬‭(warning)‬‭Red Card‬‭(ejection)‬ ‭Swearing is considered‬‭bad sportsmanship‬‭.‬ ‭Football‬ ‭A regulation football field is 100 yards long and 50 yards wide. End zones are 10 yards‬ ‭The‬‭football field‬‭we played on in class was 50 yards‬‭long and 25 yards wide.‬ ‭A regulation football game is played with 11 players on each side.‬ ‭In class we played 6 on 6.‬ ‭A‬‭touchdown‬‭in regulation football is worth six points.‬ ‭A player must be touched with‬‭two hands‬‭to be considered‬‭down.‬ ‭To start each play the ball must be snapped by the‬‭center‬‭.‬ ‭The defense must count to‬‭10 apple‬‭before they can‬‭rush in.‬ ‭The defense is allowed one‬‭blitz‬‭every 4 downs.‬ ‭The quarterback is allowed one run every down. But it is‬‭Rush in rush out‬ ‭Each team is allowed to‬‭handoff‬‭the ball every down.‬ ‭A team is allowed one‬‭forward pass‬‭when they are behind‬‭the line of scrimmage.‬ ‭ good strategy is for the wide receivers to do‬‭different‬‭routes each down‬‭. Not to go deep‬ A ‭every single time.‬ ‭ he‬‭midline‬‭is the first down line. Your team has‬‭four downs to pass the cone to get a first‬ T ‭down. After passing the cone, the team has‬‭four downs‬‭to get a touchdown‬‭.‬ ‭If a‬‭girl catches‬‭the ball it is an automatic first‬‭down.‬ ‭A defensive player cannot touch the wide receiver after they went five yards.‬ ‭You are‬‭not allowed‬‭to block anyone in the back.‬ ‭Defense‬‭is very important in the game of football.‬ ‭Defense wins championships.‬ ‭Volleyball‬‭.‬ ‭Each team gets‬‭3 hits‬‭on a side‬ ‭A player can only touch the ball‬‭once‬‭before another‬‭teammate hits the ball‬ ‭Pass/bump‬‭is used when the ball is below your waist‬ ‭Set‬‭is used when the ball is above your head.‬ ‭Spike‬‭is a power hit at the net to score a point.‬ ‭Serve‬‭is used to start the game, must be one hand,‬‭underhand or overhand‬ ‭The ball‬‭can‬‭hit the net on a serve and during play.‬ ‭A player‬‭can‬‭play the ball off the net. But a player‬‭cannot‬‭help a serve over‬ ‭ player‬‭can‬‭play the ball off the‬‭ceiling‬‭on your‬‭own side. If the ball is hit into the‬‭ceiling‬‭on‬ A ‭your opponents’ side, it is a‬‭dead‬‭ball‬ ‭Clockwise‬‭rotation‬ ‭Lift or carry‬‭: hitting the ball with an open hand‬‭below the waist‬ ‭Working better with others (Teamwork) is a benefit of you‬‭Social‬‭health‬ ‭A player‬‭cannot‬‭hit the ball twice in a row.‬ ‭A player may legally go anywhere outside the playing court to hit the ball.‬ ‭Once the ball hits the ground it is‬‭dead‬‭.‬ ‭If the ball hits the ground in bounds on your side the other team gets a point.‬ ‭If the ball touches the‬‭boundary line‬‭it is‬‭in bounds‬‭.‬ ‭During a‬‭serve‬‭the server may not touch or go over the serving line.‬ ‭The server is allowed to serve the ball‬‭anywhere‬‭behind‬‭the serving line.‬ ‭ he server is only allowed‬‭one chance‬‭to get the serve‬‭over the net, it then goes to the other‬ T ‭team.‬ ‭Rally score‬‭. Everything is a point.‬ ‭Games are played up to‬‭25‬‭. Some games in PE were‬‭up to 15.‬ ‭A player can‬‭never‬‭touch the net with any body part.‬ ‭Teams are‬‭not‬‭allowed to spike or block the serve.‬ ‭A ball‬‭cannot‬‭be played off any wall or bleachers.‬ ‭The best strategy to use in volleyball is the‬‭bump,‬‭set, spike‬‭.‬ ‭Communication‬‭is a big key to your teams’ success.‬ ‭KICKBALL RULES‬ ‭ he rules for kickball are closely related to those of baseball. The main difference is that‬ T ‭kickball involves a big rubber ball. The ball is about the size of a basketball.‬ ‭ ickball is played on a field with 4 bases arranged on the corners of a diamond-shaped "infield".‬ K ‭Player positions are also similar to those of baseball. There is an "infield" and an "outfield." The‬ ‭infield contains the positions that involve the bases, while the outfield is mainly designated to‬ ‭catching or retrieving the ball when it is kicked out of the infield. Actual playing positions vary‬ ‭depending on the number of students that are actually playing. If there are only a few students‬ ‭playing, the positions are usually spread out, but if there are a good number of players, students‬ ‭will position themselves wherever there is space.‬ ‭ ame play goes as follows: the ball is rolled towards home plate, and the player which is up (‬ G ‭kicking ), tries to kick the ball. If the ball is caught in the air, the kicker is out. The ball can be‬ ‭caught off the ceiling or side walls for an out. If the ball hits the back wall it cannot be caught for‬ ‭an out. If the ball is kicked over the gold monster without touching anything on its flight path, is‬ ‭ n automatic homerun. A player is also out if the ball is thrown at them, and hits them while‬ a ‭they are not touching a base. If a thrown ball misses them, they may continue to run to the next‬ ‭base. Also similar to baseball, if the ball is thrown to the first base man, and it is caught by the‬ ‭first base man while he/she is touching first base, the player running to first base is out. This is‬ ‭known as a "force out" in that the runner was forced to run to that base. A force out can also‬ ‭occur at first base by throwing the ball to the pitcher (pitchers hand). Once the pitcher has the‬ ‭ball the base runner cannot advance to the next base. A "force out" can occur on any base that‬ ‭a runner is forced to run to. When a ball is hit in the air a base runner must make sure the ball‬ ‭is not caught before running to the next base when there is less then 4 outs. If a kicked ball is‬ ‭caught and the base runner runs to the next base the defensive team can tag the base the base‬ ‭runner was previously at for an out.‬ ‭ nce a team gets 5 outs, the teams switch sides. A team gets one point for having a runner‬ O ‭make it all the way around the bases and back to home base.‬ ‭ he game is over when time runs out, the ball pops, or the ball is lost. At the end of the game,‬ T ‭the team with the most points wins.‬ ‭Tennis‬ ‭Equipment‬ ‭Tennis racket‬ ‭Tennis ball‬ ‭Net (3ft 6inches)‬ ‭Rules‬ ‭Points in tennis‬‭love, 15, 30, 40‬‭, deuce,‬‭advantage, game‬ ‭Server must be‬‭behind‬‭the serving line‬ ‭The ball served must land within the‬‭service‬‭box‬‭, which is diagonally opposite‬ ‭The server is allowed one‬‭fault‬ ‭If the serve hits the net and lands in the appropriate box it is a‬‭let or redo‬ ‭The serve‬‭must bounce‬‭before the other team can hit the ball‬ ‭The ball can‬‭bounce one time‬‭on a team’s‬‭side‬ ‭Each team is allowed‬‭one hit‬‭on a side‬ ‭A player‬‭cannot reach over the net‬‭to contact‬‭a ball‬ ‭A player‬‭cannot touch the net with the racket or any‬‭part of the body‬ ‭A ball hitting the line‬‭is in‬ ‭A ball hitting a body part is the other teams point‬ ‭Teams must rotate servers‬ ‭Technique and Strategy‬ ‭ rip, footwork, ready position forehand, backhand, lob shot, spike, drive serve, rushing‬ G ‭the net, deep play, force opponent to move, controlling the net, drop shot, attacking,‬ ‭blocks‬ ‭Eclipse Ball‬ ‭Eclipse ball is a combination of‬‭volleyball‬‭and‬‭tennis‬ ‭Spike‬‭is a power hit at the net to score a point.‬ ‭Serve‬‭is used to start the game, must be one hand,‬‭underhand or overhand‬ ‭The ball‬‭can‬‭hit the net on a serve and during play.‬ ‭A player‬‭can‬‭play the ball off the net.
