Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Jananayak Chandrashekhar University Shaheed Smarak, Near Surha Tal, Basantpur, Ballia – 277301, Uttar Pradesh Website: www.jncu.ac.in, Email: [email protected] Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) In pursuance of its action plan for performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation and quality upgradation of Jananayak Chandrashekhar University, Ballia Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been established. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the University academic system and work towards the realisation of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The task of IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the University. Strategies: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for ensuring timely, efficient, and progressive performance of academic, administrative, and financial tasks, the relevant and quality academic and research programmes, equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society, optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning, the credibility of assessment and evaluation process, ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support system and sharing of research findings and networking with other institutions in India and abroad. Objectives: The aims of IQAC are To develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the University. To promote measures for university functioning towards quality enhancement through internalisation of quality culture. To guide the creation of a culture for excellence. To design and implement quality assurance in all processes of the university. To produce better results/outcomes with the help of internal & external stakeholders. To adopt well-established codes and conducts for achieving external accreditations/rankings. To develop the parameters for academic and administrative excellence of the University. To facilitate the creation and development of a conducive environment for a higher standard of teaching-learning through the incorporation of traditional and modern knowledge systems. To promote quality enhancement in research and publications by encouraging and facilitating the support structure of the faculty members of the university. To enhance the use of ICT in teaching-learning and administrative functions. To develop the quality culture in the university by the organisation of various academic and extracurricular activities. Functions: Documentation of academic, cultural, and other activities through the concerned department(s). Organisation of seminars, workshops, faculty development programmes and other academic and cultural activities/events to promote quality research and multifaceted development of stakeholders in the institution. Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders. Preparation and submission of Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR). Institutional social responsibility through National Social Service (NSS), National Cadet Core (NCC) and other extension activities by the institution. Continuous improvement in the teaching-learning process. Quality development of students in academics and skill development. Organising Faculty Development Programmes for the improvement of the quality and skill of teaching and non-teaching staff of the University. Infrastructural development of the University. The Role of the Co-ordinator: The role of the coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is crucial in ensuring the effective functioning of all the members. The coordinator of the IQAC may be a senior/competent person with experience and exposure in quality aspects. The coordinator may be a full-time functionary or, to start with, the coordinator may be a senior academic/administrator entrusted with the IQAC as an additional responsibility. Secretarial assistance may be facilitated by the administration. It is essential for the coordinator that have sound knowledge of operating computers, data management and use and knowledge of various functions/applications for effective communication.
