# DEVOIR 2 This assignment is to be completed digitally. Please **log in to your training site** at www.cned.fr > registered space and follow our practical advice to submit your assignment and have it graded online. **IMPORTANT** Please complete this assignment after studying sequence 1. *The completion of your assignments is a personal task which allows you to assess your knowledge and develop your career plan. Unless otherwise instructed you must complete these assignments under exam conditions, that is, within a set time limit, without copying content from sources external to the subject (internet, CNED courses, textbooks, etc.). If necessary, if you need to refer to a passage from an external source, please put it in quotation marks and cite your source. Any work which is not original will be penalized.* **Duration:** 1 hour **Instructions:** Write an argumentative essay (approximately one page front and back). ## Subject: At the heart of single-parent families, the place and role of the father and mother are undergoing major changes. But who should look after the children…? Shared custody, alternating custody, custody primarily with the mother: new families, new challenges. ## Methodological advice: Creating an argumentative essay involves producing a written piece that highlights a reasoned argument. An argumentative essay includes a short introduction and a short conclusion. The introduction should contain several sentences which aim to: * Remind the reader of the topic being discussed. * Briefly announce what you will discuss. The conclusion should be straightforward: * Respond to the topic * Provide a perspective on the topic or an extension of the topic. An argumentative essay consists of several argumentative paragraphs (at least two). Each paragraph is structured in an AEl order to highlight your ideas: * You start with an Assertion (A): a short sentence formulating a possible answer to the topic. * After your Assertion, you must then provide an Explanation (E): you will demonstrate your understanding of the topic and define the concepts you use. You should explain your assertion, using the mechanisms and vocabulary of the lesson. This part is important to remember: make sure you take your time explaining your understanding so that you can demonstrate your knowledge of the topic. * You should end your paragraph with an Illustration (I): your illustration is proof that your A and your E are relevant. Find an example from the lesson, or from your everyday experience. ## Guidance for your reflection: * Families in France have experienced significant changes for several decades. * The emergence of new family models. * The evolution of laws. * The demands made by mothers. * The demands made by fathers. * The government's response. ## CNED PREMIERE ENSEIGNEMENT MORAL ET CIVIQUE 1
