Different people Different people need different amounts of energy in their have different diet according to their lifestyle. energy requirements For example: from their diet - A teenager has higher energy needs than an elderly person as they require energy for growth - Active people (perhaps their job) require more energy than non-active people as their muscles are respiring faster. - Males usually have higher energy needs than females - Pregnant women have higher energy needs than non-pregnant women. - Breastfeeding women have higher energy needs than non-breast feeding.
