Windows PE Setup Process

During setup, if the drive has not been partitioned, setup will automatically partition the drive as required.

Windows PE will automatically initiate the setup process once the virtual machine boots into it.

When setting up the system, the user has to manually select the 'Load Driver' option at the bottom right.

The setup process will not ask for language, time, currency, and keyboard preferences before copying required files.

Selecting 'repair the computer' will start the installation process.

The installation of VMWare tools is mentioned as the first step after initially setting up the system.

You can partition and format the drive after the installation is complete.

The “loading files” screen loads Windows Server 2012 R2 directly from the DVD into RAM.

You need to accept the license terms before selecting the installation type.

The system will automatically load Server Manager upon first login after Windows finishes the installation.

You can proceed with the installation without entering a product key.

It is recommended to choose the 'EFI firmware' option when setting up the boot options on a virtual machine.

You can upgrade to Windows Server 2012 R2 without removing the previous operating system.

Pressing a key is not necessary to start the OS installation process when no operating system is present on the drive.

The minimum RAM requirement for all editions of Windows Server 2012 R2 is 512 GB.

Not selecting the option for the virtual optical drive can cause the virtual machine to boot from its existing operating system.

To select the boot options in VMware Virtual Machine, one needs to go to the 'Edit Settings' option.

If you want to force entry into the EFI setup screen the next time the virtual machine boots, you should untick the option.
