Windows Magnifier
- Three display options: Full screen, Lens, and Docked, which can be used to enlarge the screen.
- Full screen is the default option, enlarging the entire screen.
- Lens maintains the standard size on the screen, but draws a box that enlarges an area.
- Docked presents the enlargement in a fixed box at the top.
Options
- The value that adds or subtracts magnification when using the Zoom out and Zoom in buttons can be changed, e.g., to 25%.
- Monitoring options include following the cursor, keyboard activity, or a fixed area.
- In Lens mode, the size of the magnifier can be configured.
Windows Speech Recognition
- An alternative for people with motor disabilities, allowing verbal orders to control computer actions.
- Requires configuring a microphone and "training" the computer to identify the user's tone and speed.
- Allows launching applications, closing them, writing documents, etc., but has limitations and requires development.
- Currently, voice recognition is available in Spanish, but the list of verbal commands is in English.
Accessibility Menu
- Located in the lower right corner of the screen, the menu includes:
- The narrator: reads the content on the screen aloud.
- Magnifying glass: amplifies the content of the screen.
- On-screen keyboard: for use with the mouse or simple key combinations.
- High contrast: modifies the color scheme in the Windows interface to make it easier to identify elements.
- Special keys: activates a mode where key combinations can be performed consecutively rather than simultaneously.
- Filter keys: removes inadvertent keystrokes.
Magnifying Glass
- Can be activated through the Accessibility menu or by pressing the Windows + + keys.
- Offers options to Zoom Out, Zoom in, and switch between different types of magnifiers.
- Zoom Out hotkeys are Windows + -, which zooms out if the display value is more than 100%.
- Zoom in hotkeys are Windows + +, which increases the display size percentage (200%, 300%, etc.).
Accessibility Options
- The goal is to make it easier for people with visual, motor, or hearing disabilities to use the computer.
- Options are available through the Accessibility Center and can be accessed from the Windows Start screen.
- Simplified options are available through four applications: Magnifier, Narrator, Windows Speech Recognition, and On-Screen Keyboard.
Accessing Printer Settings
- To access printer settings, press the Start button and select the Settings button, then tap Devices.
- In the Printers & Scanners category, scroll down and click Devices & Printers in the right pane.
Printer Properties
- Right-click on a printer and select Printer Properties to access settings.
- It is recommended to use the Microsoft XPS Document Writer virtual printer for this process.
Printing a Test Page
- On the General tab, click the Print Test Page button to print a test page.
- If using Microsoft XPS Document Writer, specify a location to save the file.
Printing a File
- Open the file and select Print from the File menu.
- Choose the printer (Microsoft XPS Document Writer if no physical printer is available).
- Click the Preferences button and change the orientation to Landscape in the Presentation tab.
Print Settings
- Type 3 in the Number of copies box to print multiple copies.
- Click Print to print the file. Note that Microsoft XPS Document Writer limits copies to one.
