- HIV is not the enemy, ignorance is.
- HIV is a virus that destroys a type of white blood cell (T cells or CD4 cells) that the immune system needs to fight disease.
- AIDS is the final stage of HIV infection. It occurs when a person has one or more specific infections, certain cancers, or a very low number of T cells.
