Ulnar Nerve
Ulnar Nerve
A nerve originating from the medial cord of the brachial plexus, involved in arm and hand function.
Root value of Ulnar Nerve

Study Notes
Ulnar Nerve
- Root value: C8, T1
- Origin: Branch of the medial cord of the brachial plexus
- Branches: No branches in the axilla or arm
- Supplies:
- Flexor carpi ulnaris (FCU) and the medial half of the flexor digitorum profundus (FDP); often co-innervates the part of the FDP inserting into the 3rd digit
- Primary nerve of the hand, referred to as the nerve of fine movements; supplies all intrinsic hand muscles except the thenar muscles and the first two lumbricals; often innervates the deep head of the flexor pollicis brevis
