Triage Categories
- Resuscitation: Patient with Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) 4, severe respiratory distress, cardiac arrest
- Emergent: Suspected heart attack, hypertension (diastolic BP 150 mmHg), severe abdominal pain, severe chest pain
- Urgent: Moderate abdominal pain, mild respiratory distress, moderate headache, mild dehydration, non-symptomatic hypertension (HTN)
- Less Urgent: Suturing of minor lacerations, administration of intramuscular (IM) analgesia for pain, constipated elderly, chronic confusion without visual changes, administration of oral analgesia for mild pain, fractured limbs that are immobile
- Non Urgent: Change of dressing, mild diarrhea without dehydration signs, minor bites, medication request
