Sigmund Freud's Psychosexual Stages
- Oral Stage: The first stage, occurring from birth to around 1 year old, where the mouth is the primary source of pleasure.
- Anal Stage: The second stage, approximately from 1-3 years old, where the anus is the primary source of pleasure, and toilet training occurs.
- Phallic Stage: The third stage, around 3-6 years old, where the genitals are the primary source of pleasure and the Oedipus complex develops.
- Latency Stage: The fourth stage, from around 6-12 years old, where sexual desires are repressed and energy is directed towards social and cognitive development.
- Genital Stage: The final stage, from puberty onwards, where sexual desires are reawakened and the individual seeks a romantic partner.
