- Employees are not allowed to recommend or suggest specific professional or commercial services (e.g. attorney, alarm company, towing service, bonding agent, mortician, etc.) while on-duty, except in personal business transactions.

- If towing service is needed and the person requiring the service is unwilling or unable to procure it, the deputy will request a BSO-approved tow truck.

- A "Business Associate" is a person or entity engaged in business with an employee as a partner, joint venturer, corporate shareholder, or co-owner of property.
- A "Business Entity" includes corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, proprietorships, firms, enterprises, franchises, associations, self-employed individuals, or trusts.
- A "Conflict of Interest" occurs when an employee's private interests lead to disregard of public duty or interest.
- "Corruptly" means actions taken with wrongful intent to obtain benefits inconsistent with official duties.
Policy Prohibitions
