Methods of Donning an SCBA
- There are five common methods of donning an SCBA.
SCBA Inspection
- During inspection, check the air cylinder and remote gauges for proper operation.
- Check that the valves are functioning correctly.
- Test to make sure the Personal Alert Safety System (PASS) device is functioning. If not, ensure an External PASS is available.
- Do not check the SCBA manual during inspection, it should be with the harness.
