SAP MB1A Transaction: Goods Issue

• MB1A is used to register goods issue (consumption of materials against production orders).

Transaction Access

• Via Menu path: Logistics > Materials Management > Inventory Management > Goods Issue
• Alternatively, use transaction code MB1A.

Screen Description: Initial Data Entry

• Enter necessary data such as document and posting dates, material slip, and header text.
• There are fields for movement type, plant (center), and storage location (warehouse).
• Options are available for accompanying goods documents, such as printing.
• Movement types include individual, collective, and individual with text.

Functionality Based on Movement Type

• Different initial screens lead to different follow-up screens.
• The same transaction can be used to execute various types of material withdrawals from the warehouse.

Movement Types 261/262 vs 201

• Movement 201 is used for cost center issues.
• Movements 261/262 focus on material consumption.

Fields Breakdown

• Movement Type
  • 261 signifies material withdrawal from the warehouse for a production order.
  • 262 reverses material withdrawal from the warehouse for a production order.
• Document Date: Material document date.
• Posting Date: Date of the inventory movement posting.
• Plant: This is the center (0001 = Madrid, 0002 = Burgos).

Planned vs Unplanned Consumption

• Pressing "Enter" navigates to a summary of positions.
• Data entry corresponds to materials that are either planned or not.
• Specified movements do not reduce warehouse reserves after "Enter" is pressed, whether the material is planned or not.
• To consume materials not in the product's BOM, use the "New Position" button.
• Materials in the list of materials are considered planned and can be consumed without reducing the reserved quantity.

Consumption with material planning

• To consume against planned materials, select "By Reservation" or "By Order."
• Quantities are deducted from the reserved amount in the warehouse.
• Only planned components should be consumed by order or reservation.
• Automatic consumption occurs when the labor entry is captured, based on the amount reported as good or bad.

Canceling Material Consumption (Movement Type 262)

• Consumption reversal should be done by reference, but it can also be done without one.
• References can be to material documents, reservations, or orders.
• Without a reference, the process is identical to unplanned consumption, but movement type 262 is specified.
• With a reference
  • Navigate to Goods Issue > Cancel with Reference.
  • Choose “By Order” / “By Reservation”.
• Planned consumptions can be reversed by material document number through the menu path Goods Issue > Cancel with Reference > By Material Document.
• Enter the material document that is to be reversed in the subsequent pop-up window.
• Press Enter or the validate button to navigate to the document position overview page where the proposed quantities can be changed.
• Click the "Take Over + Details" button.

• After completing the required fields, press "Enter" to proceed to the subsequent entry.
• Quantities can be changed according to user's requirements.
• After validating the screens, the positions are now shown.
• Save this which, updates the corresponding goods movement.

MB31 Transaction: Goods Receipt for Production Order

• MB31 is used to record the receipt of finished goods into the warehouse from a production order.

Transaction Access

• Menu path is Logistics > Production > Production Control > Goods Movement > Goods Receipt.
• Use transaction code MB31.

Screen Description: Initial Screen

• The initial screen displays "GR for Order: Initial Screen”.

Initial Data Entry

• Document date, posting date, order number, and movement type are required.
• Movement 101 posts the product in the warehouse from an order.

Mandatory Fields

• Movement type, production order, and plant.

Delivery Modes

• In the "Delivery Modes” screen, delivery may be made.

Default values that will be loaded include

• Document/Posting Date.
• Dates must correspond to the date of inventory movement.

Additional Information on Delivery Parameters

• It's up to the user to decide whether to change the dates.
• Order of manufacture, movement type, and production facility are all needed for data to flow.
• The storage place will be optional.

Item-Specifics

• Always use the “individual slip with text indicator”.
• Mark 'propose zero lines,' only if made-to-order goods must ship.

Entering the Goods Receipt

• The system presents a default quantity for delivery.
• Add the storage location now if not in the first screen.
• The system asks that you enter the relevant lot if the finished product is lot-managed.
• The labor slip must be delivered for the delivery movement in the case that order for manufacture specifies lot.
• The stock type box left clear as the system assumes that this stock is to be freely distributed.
• Marks FINAL DELIVERY is clicked, an incorrect approach will trigger system issues.
• Notes about incidents that affected the movement may be entered in the areas of unloading and text.
• After clicking the validation button a message, influenced by the order and storage unit, will appear. Volume again clicks the validation button & displays the next window.

Confirmation of Data and Posting

• A prompt will be shown to confirm the data the user added
• Record once hitting the save icon, and the number will be displayed.

Simultaneous Deliveries from Multiple Orders
