- These procedures can involve the operation of advanced diagnostic equipment, including molecular and nuclear diagnostics.
- Ensure the accuracy and precision of both the testing process and its results.
- Accuracy and precision affect the physician's interpretation of the results to provide proper medication for disease treatment.
- Be honest in reporting laboratory procedure results.
- Medical Technologists must adhere to the Medical Technology profession’s Code of Ethics and their pledged Oath of practice.
- They must be aware of the urgency of delivering results on time, especially in cases requiring immediate treatment.
- If a physician requests an immediate result, a Medical Technologist should note it as “STAT” and observe the source of the request.
- Must perform their duties in accordance with the professional Code of Ethics for medical technology professionals.
