Rock Cycle
The rock cycle is the process by which rocks are formed, transformed, and destroyed. It is a continuous process that has been occurring for billions of years.
Stages of the Rock Cycle:

Igneous Rock Formation:
- Magma cools and solidifies to form igneous rocks
- Can occur beneath the Earth's surface (intrusive) or on the surface (extrusive)

- Rocks are broken down into smaller pieces through weathering (chemical and physical processes)
- Sediments are transported away from their source through erosion

- Sediments are deposited in a new location, such as a river delta or ocean basin

- Existing rocks are transformed into new rocks through heat, pressure, and chemical reactions
