Ribbon Placement Guidelines
- Ribbons are displayed in order from highest to lowest ranking.
- The highest-ranked ribbons include:
- Gold Medal of Valor
- Silver Medal of Valor
- Bronze Medal of Valor
- Life Saving Award
- Purple Heart Award
- Thomas Quinn Exceptional Service Award
- William “Bill” Gustin Student of the Fire Service (not shown)
- Employee Excellence Award
- Unit Citation Award
- Significant Incident Ribbon
- Major Campaign Ribbon
- Specific Mission Ribbon (not shown)
Single and Multiple Ribbon Display
- A single awarded ribbon is to be centered directly under the badge.
- When displaying two ribbons:
- The highest award is placed closest to the heart.
- Both ribbons are on the same display bar.
- For three ribbons:
- The highest award is again nearest to the heart.
- All ribbons are displayed on the same bar.
Four or More Ribbons
- When displaying four ribbons:
- The highest award is centered below the badge.
- The remaining three ribbons are placed on the same bar, with the highest among those closest to the heart.
- Only a maximum of three ribbons can be worn in one row.
- Display bars (for two- or three-ribbon configurations) are available after the Meritorious (Medal Day) Ceremony.
