Flashcards
Radial Nerve
Radial Nerve
A nerve that originates from the posterior cord of the brachial plexus, innervating the posterior arm and forearm.
Root Value
Root Value
The spinal nerve roots that give rise to the radial nerve, specifically C5 to T1.

Study Notes
Radial Nerve
- Root value: C5-T1
- Origin: branch of the posterior cord of the brachial plexus
- Branches: deep and superficial branches
- Supplies: primary nerve of the posterior arm and forearm; supplies all muscles in these compartments
- Relationships:
- Passes posteriorly through the triangular interval around the humerus in the radial groove with the deep brachial artery
- Pierces lateral intermuscular septum and continues between brachialis and brachioradialis mm
- At the level of the elbow, it is found anterior to the lateral epicondyle
