-
Parts:

- Theoretical/Conceptual Framework
- Central and Corollary Questions
- Scope and Delimitation
- Significance of the Study
- Definition of Terms
Introduction
- Ideas are organized deductively in introductions.
- Study often presents global, local, and focal perspectives
- The global perspective offers a broad overview of the topic, often defined by the researched subject.
- The local perspective gives insight into the subject's situation in a particular country (e.g., the Philippines).
- The focal perspective defines the gap, including the specific reasons why the study must be undertaken.
- This often references the rationale and current situation for that particular topic, as well as the lack of sufficient research materials/information available regarding the topic under scrutiny.
Theoretical and Conceptual Framework
- A theory is a conceptual idea that describes, predicts, and understands a phenomenon.
- A framework is a basic structure or frame of reference to support a topic, including the natural progression of the study subject.
- Theoretical Framework is a collection of theories and models that serve as a support for the study.
- Key strategies for developing the framework are: identifying key concepts, using existing theories, and constructing a concept map. Explaining how the framework relates to different aspects of the study.
Central and Corollary Questions
- Central Questions focus on the essence of the lived experience of the participants based on the topic
- Corollary Questions explore how participants describe their experiences and identify emerging themes from the topic under investigation.
Scope and Delimitation
- Scope specifies the parameters of the study.
- A scope statement answers these questions: - Why? General aims and objectives - What? Subject, included variables - Where? The setting, location - When? The timeframe - Who? The subject matter, and population - How? Methodology, research tools, and analysis
Significance of the Study
- Significance of the study details the benefits of the study, both for specific entities, and for the field generally.
- It usually is written in the form of enumeration by benefit to the beneficiaries. The structure normally progresses from general to specific, with each point enumerating the benefit in detail, and the eventual benefit for greater or global impact.
Definition of Terms
- Conceptual definition: Based on dictionary/encyclopedia definition.
- Operational definition: Based on how the term is used in the study and research.
