    Postal Department Revenue

    • Unpaid postal articles, remaining unpaid for twelve months from the issue date, will be cancelled and the amount written back.
    • The Director-General and supervising officers are responsible for ensuring that postal articles are appropriately taxed with prescribed fees, either through stamps or cash recovery.
    • When the Postal Department provides special postal services for high officials or distinguished individuals during their tours, the Department will recover the actual extra expenditure incurred.
    • The total expenditure must exceed Rs. 50 in each Postal Circle for the Department to recover costs.
    • A bill detailing the expenditure, indicating the Government or Department to whom the charge is debitable, will be forwarded to the Account Office for adjustment.
    • The cost of journeys performed on free passes is excluded when calculating the extra cost due to travelling allowances.
    • Any extra cost incurred by the Department when a departmental employee travels with a Governor in his reserved accommodation will be the additional fraction of a fare ordinarily admissible, supplementing the full fare.

    • Post Offices submit a separate schedule in Form A.C.G.-106 to the Circle Postal Accounts Office with their monthly accounts, detailing forms or publications, copies sold, and amounts credited.
    • A statement showing opening balance, copies received during the month, copies sold during the month, and closing balance for each type of publication and form is sent with the schedule.

    Third Party Products Offered by the Postal Department

      • Prasad charges are subject to revision as agreed upon by the Temple Management and Department of Posts.
    • HanumanGarhi Temple, Ayodhya:

      • Prasad is available in two categories (Rs. 251 and Rs. 551).
