Political System of Pakistan
- A political system is a system through which a state is run, and in Pakistan, the system is defined by the 1956, 1962, and 1973 constitutions.
- The 1956 constitution had a unicameral legislation or parliamentary system, where the executive of the country (Prime Minister) is from the members of parliament.
- The 1962 constitution, given by President Ayub Khan, was a unicameral presidential system, where the president is the chief executive of the country and has the liberty to choose members of the cabinet.
- The 1973 constitution was bicameral-parliamentary, with a senate and a national assembly, where the senate represents all provinces equally and the national assembly is based on population representation.
