Aerobics Program
- The Kansas City Missouri Police Department encourages its members to maintain their physical well-being at a higher than average level.
Physical Abilities Test (P.A.T.)
- A pre-determined course to determine agility, coordination, strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness within a specific time period based on age and gender.
- Awards two Extra (E) Days and the Physical Fitness Ribbon.
- Participants must complete the course within a specific time period based on their age and gender.
Age and Gender Specific Time Periods
- Age 21-25: Male - 2:06, Female - 2:52
- Age 26-30: Male - 2:16, Female - 3:02
- Age 31-35: Male - 2:26, Female - 3:12
- Age 36-40: Male - 2:36, Female - 3:22
- Age 41-45: Male - 2:46, Female - 3:32
- Age 46-50: Male - 2:56, Female - 3:42
- Age 51-55: Male - 3:06, Female - 3:52
- Age 56+: Male - 3:16, Female - 4:02
Sport Run/Walk
- A pre-determined distance of 2.25 miles within a specific time period.
- Awards one or two Extra (E) Days depending on the final time.
- Not age or gender specific.
- Time 25:00 - Two Extra (E) Days.
- Time 25:01 to 30:00 - One Extra (E) Day.
Eligibility and Participation
- Members must have completed the probationary period.
- No member on limited duty will be allowed to participate.
- Participation is voluntary and will be conducted during off-duty time.
- Any injury or illness sustained as a result of participation will be considered non-duty related.
Administration
- The Training Unit will schedule and administer the Physical Abilities Test and the Sport Run/Walk.
- The Training Unit will distribute the Aerobics Eligibility List and dates via the Intranet.
- Members may participate in the Aerobics Program on a bi-annual basis during their eligible month or, if necessary, one month following their eligible month.
