PA FBLA History
The Pennsylvania Association of Future Business Leaders of America was established in 1968 as part of the National FBLA, which traces its roots back to 1942 when it began with just over 40 students from eight local chapters:
1942: The Future Teachers of Business and Commerce (FTBC) was founded at Ardmore High School in Pennsylvania, later becoming known as the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).
1958: FTBC held its first national conference in Chicago.
1964: The organization's name changed from Future Teachers of Business and Commerce to Future Business Leaders of America.
1968: Establishment of the Pennsylvania Association of Future Business Leaders of America.
Today, PA FBLA is one of many state associations affiliated with theNational FBLA, serving thousands of high school students across the commonwealth. Its mission reflects the broader goals of the parent organization: to inspire and prepare members for careers in business through academic programs, community service projects, and leadership development opportunities.
