Certificates and Permits

Fields and Practices

Independent Contractor Registration: Written authorization for a business entity providing services in a field of practice

Practitioner Requirements

Practitioner: Certified individual authorized to perform services in a specific field of practice
Certification Requirements: Completion of required courses, passing an exam, and payment of fees for certification in hair design, barbering, esthetics, nail technology, or natural hair care

Operational Compliance

Facility License Requirements: Minimum age of 18, adherence to health and safety laws, and payment of fees for operation
Independent Contractor Requirements: Minimum age of 18, associated compliance with board rules and health laws, and maintaining an active certificate in good standing

Health Licensing Office (HLO)

HLO: The Health Licensing Office oversees the permits and certifications related to cosmetology practices
